Quaker Meetinghouse Outdoor Gathering Space

Quaker Meetinghouse Outdoor Gathering Space

THE CHALLENGE

THE CHALLENGE

Built in 1708, the Quaker Meetinghouse in Plymouth Meeting PA is on the National Register of Historic Places. It played a role in the Revolutionary War (as a field hospital and campsite for troops led by Marquis de Lafayette, and was later a center of the abolitionist movement). Given this history, Maxwell Lighting & Energy was honored to be the provider of lighting and controls for a new Outdoor Gathering Space designed to increase outreach activities, provide additional space for large events, and serve as an outdoor classroom.

THE SOLUTION

The project involved low voltage landscape lights, in-step safety lights in a stone stairway, life safety lighting, LED bollards, and flood lights. All of our work was coordinated with the landscape architect, the electrical contractor, and the general contractor with respect to construction schedules for burying wire, adding a sub-panel, obtaining construction permits, etc.
